The oldest princess crochet doll of them all

The Snow White princess crochet doll is the studio's most classical piece: the full skirt, the high collar, the red bow, and a face embroidered rather than stitched in hard contrast.

Three strong colours meeting on one small doll — blue, yellow, red — leaves nowhere to hide a sloppy colour change. Each block is worked so the join sits on a seam line rather than in the middle of a panel, which is the difference between a handmade doll and a homemade one.

The skirt

It has to stand. A crocheted skirt that hangs flat makes the whole doll look deflated, so the increases are spaced to flare it and hold it there without anything stiff sewn inside.
